Wonder Woman. We all know about her. Miracle Max? You know, he’s the witch doctor played by Billy Crystal in The Princess Bride. IF you haven’t seen The Princess Bride, grab your beverage of choice and indulge in that incredible cult classic.
Getting back to the point. What I want to talk about is a kind of ‘mom thing’ at face value. But whether you are a parent or not – there are truths here for you; either that you will relate to, or at the very least give you a reason to cut the rest of us some slack or treat us to a well-earned spa day.
It’s incredible how a cold snap in the weather or an unexpected flu can cause you to take what you THOUGHT you were going to get done that day and force you into an extra degree of creativity. I realized today that though I did hours of computer work, I hardly sat down. Every 10 minutes, I was needed for food, drink, band-aids, ice packs, hugs or mediation!
However, as these announcements of hunger and boredom began to layer themselves in my ears, I remembered how incredibly lucky I am. These moments of chaos can either blind us with anger or allow us the opportunity to see beyond the veil of confusion and panic to see the joy and beauty that’s all around. This day like every other had limitless possibilities for joy, love and abundance and I was hell-bent on swimming in it!
What if…… What if these stretches of repeated chaos are simply arriving in our reality to allow us to see beyond? What if these circumstances are giving us a chance to see what we really CAN do with that wonder woman cape of ours? What kind of miracles could we create in our families, homes, dreams and careers? You know…. miracles hardly happen during the calm. They tend to happen in the storm.
In the end, I have to say that in my ‘wasted work day’ there was a treasure to be found. What I thought was bound for failure, instead gave birth to new ideas and projects that I’m SO excited to get busy on. (stay tuned!) But in the end… that’s the point! I chose not to limit my day by a near sighted ‘realistic’ perspective… rather took the chance to ask, “What else is possible, today?!” Because these are the questions that invoke action and creation.
So this is what I will leave you with:
What do you desire to feel? Who do you desire to be? Feel it. Be it. Chase after what others deem impossible and be the miracle.
