Mercury in Retrograde: A few thoughts before it’s done

As I said before in the last  Mercury in Retrograde  post,  this isn’t a time of hocus pocus superstition where you have to be afraid to cross paths with the moonlight.  This time is a gift.

I wrote earlier today for a different publication on the subject of rejection.  Rejection, like Mercury being in retrograde is something that once we enter into its sphere, we all sit on the edge of our seats waiting for something painful.  Of course, the emotions and circumstances that Mercury’s orbit and rejection bring are not always pleasant, but it doesn’t mean we should run for high heaven when we see it coming either.

But that’s been covered.   We have 6 days left in this retrograde cycle and I want to encourage you to make the most of it.

As a mother of 3, running my own creative business, I have to constantly ward off my incredible ideas for a more appropriate time! I always jot the ideas down and come back to them, but I have to honor myself by not sending my mind into creative overkill. Of course, the kids benefit from that as well, but ultimately it’s my own sanity that I must honor. (It’s not about selfishly neglecting the children, it’s about sacrificing our need to *live* completely and settling for scrapbooks  when we were born to paint. It saddens me to hear of parents all over neglecting their ideas and dreams ‘for the sake of the family’ when the biggest detriment is the neglect of one’s passions.  However, I digress, and should leave that important tangent for another post.)

So what do you do when you are brimming with ideas but feel the retrograde whirlwind calling you to slow down?

Well, the state to be in during this time is simply one of “non-reaction”,  as  the physical environment will be changing continually during a Mercury retrograde. Treat this time period as a time dedicated to the of gathering information and aspiration.  But look on carefully in observance.  Write down your thoughts.  Consider your options, possibilities and limitations.  But, wait until the changes stop before attempting to put things into order. Then, once Mercury turns direct again, take a look at the information that is still around at that time, assess it  and  THEN begin your action, all the  while maintaining the fine art of flexibility.

So many of my clients  have respectfully turned introspective during this time and I can’t stress enough how happy I am that they are doing so.   It’s ok to honor yourself, your business and family by putting major travel, business and extra commitments on hold while you close your eyes and ground your feet.

You have a great gift to offer the world with your talents and expertise and I’m not surprised to hear that you are anxious to get things rolling.

In the end, you know what’s best for yourself.  Sometimes you need help forging a road or strategizing the idea (and that’s what I’m here for!) but it’s also ok to take things in stride as long as you are dedicated on your path to growth, freedom, success and ultimately, bliss!

So there you have it!  A pep talk for the next  6 days.

But don’t get too comfortable. When March 1st rolls around,  I absolutely expect you to be ready to rock and get your talented ass into forward motion.

You deserve to live a beautiful life.

Want more?  I’m happy to coach you through your personal empowerment or even re-invention.  If you’re tired of living in a state of ‘When is it my turn?”, then let’s talk.  That’s a toxic mantra and you have a life to experience.
